Edike Foundation Scholarship Terms and Conditions
Edike Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in 2023, dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in Nigeria through education. Our mission is to provide scholarships and comprehensive support services to disadvantaged students who have been unable to complete their education due to the loss of a parent owing to medical-related conditions or terminal illnesses, enabling them to achieve their full potential. We believe that education is the cornerstone of individual and societal progress. By investing in these young minds, we are not only transforming lives but also contributing to the development of a more equitable and prosperous Nigeria.
These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between the Edike Foundation, and the scholarship recipient:
- Disbursement of Stipends
1.1 Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of N10,000 throughout their program, payable to the student’s designated bank account.
1.2 School fees will be paid directly to the student’s university upon admission.
1.3 Any changes to the student’s bank account information must be reported to the Foundation in writing.
2. Academic Requirements
2.1 The scholarship may be renewed for subsequent academic years, subject to the student’s continued eligibility.
2.2 Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a satisfactory academic standing and adhering to the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
2.3 Students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.0 (Second Class Lower) to remain eligible for the scholarship.
2.4 Recipients must submit their official transcripts after each semester exam.
3. Scholarship Termination
3.1 The Foundation reserves the right to terminate the scholarship for any reason, including violation of these terms and conditions.
3.2 Reasons for termination may include academic misconduct, failure to submit required documents, or non-compliance with the foundation’s guidelines and philosophy (empowerment, compassion, excellence, competence).
4. Guarantor
4.1 Student must provide a letter from a guarantor (a clergyman or a civil servant), with a passport photograph attached.
4.2 The guarantor is responsible for ensuring the student adheres to the terms and conditions of the scholarship.
5. Post-Educational Opportunities
5.1 The Foundation may provide post-educational opportunities, such as mentorship, internships, or job placement assistance, to scholarship recipients.
6. Communication
6.1 All communication with the Foundation should be conducted through official channels, such as email (info@edikefoundation) or phone.
6.2 Personal requests or communication outside of the established channels may jeopardise the scholarship.
7. Data Privacy
7.1 The Foundation will collect and store personal information from applicants and recipients.
7.2 All data provided must be accurate and up-to-date.
7.3 The Foundation will protect the privacy of personal information and comply with applicable data protection laws.
7.4 Any intellectual property created by the recipient during the scholarship period, including research papers, publications, or inventions, shall be owned by the recipient.
7.5 However, the Foundation may have the right to use or publish such materials for promotional or educational purposes.
8. Conflict of Interest
8.1 Recipients must disclose any conflicts of interest that may arise during their participation in the scholarship program.
